This post is a sister post to my meatballs post. Â The inspiration for the meatballs was to create a meatball sandwich. Â The boy’s swim team was coming over for dinner and I needed something hearty that I could also prepare mostly ahead of time.
I made my meatballs the night before. Â After the swim meet ended, I raced home to put the final touches on the sandwich. Â 60 french rolls and 3 industrial size bags of monterey jack. Â I assembled the sandwiches through them in the oven and as soon as the kids walked in the door, pulled them out to serve. Â Wipe of brow. Â No sweat!

Other Ingredients:
- 60 French Rolls
- 3 Industrial sized bags of monterey jack (bought from the Restaurant Depot)
Directions:
Take the french rolls and fill with 2 1/2 to 3 meatballs. Â Be sure to grab some of the marinara sauce. Â Top with a hearty amount of the cheese. Â Place in a 325 degree oven and bake until the cheese fully melts. Â Serve immediately and enjoy!

Hi, love your blog:) I was wondering if you have the measurements for the meatballs and sauce if only using 2 pounds of ground beef? Thanks Robyn

Thx so much. robyn, I have attached the link to the meatball recipe – http://chefpeterskitchen.blogspot.com/2012/12/italian-meatballs.html
this was industrial sized because of the group. I would think a mixture of 1 small can of tomatoes and sauce plus a small amount of paste and small amounts of various italian seasonings.
