My exploration of Asian recipes continues. My Asian Beef & Asparagus comes together so quickly.
Jump to RecipeThe cool thing about Asian recipes is how easy they actually are and how quickly they can be made. These recipes are also a very good way to put together the ingredients you enjoy. My wife and I frequently make asparagus. We had some extra in the fridge. What to do? Add it to an Asian recipe.
The asparagus would have worked just as well with chicken or tofu as the protein. Some examples of my Asian dishes combining some different ingredients include the following:
As discussed before, Asian recipes, specifically Chinese recipes, follow a very similar development pattern. In this case, the beef was pan fried in the wok followed by adding the asparagus and softening. The dish was completed by adding in the sauce. That’s all it takes to make this flavorful dish.

Asian Beef & Asparagus
Asian stir fry recipes are so easy to put together. My Asian Beef and Asparagus is assembled in less than thirty minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Lbs Beef Cut 1" wide strips
- 10 Stalks Asparagus cut in 2" pieces
- 1 Tbsp Vegetable oil
Sauce
- 2 Cloves Garlic minced
- 2 Inches ginger grated
- 2 Tsp Sesame oil
- 1/4 Cup Vegetarian oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
- 1/4 Cup Beef broth
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tsp Corn starch
Instructions
Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a wok over medium heat. Meanwhile, combine the sauce ingredients and set aside. Also add the corn starch and 1 tbsp of water in a small cup. Set aside and do not mix. Add the steak pieces with salt and pepper to the wok in a one layer. Cook for 2 – 3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Add the asparagus and cook for 3 – 4 more minutes or until softened. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and asparagus; cook for 30 seconds. Mix, and then, add the cornstarch mixture and bring to a boil. Cook for 1 minute to thicken the sauce. Serve with rice and enjoy!
