As you have read before, I love to carry a theme through a meal. Â In this case, the main course was Buffalo Chicken Burgers. Â The burgers had carrots, celery, tabasco and blue cheese mixed in to the patties. Â Naturally, the dressing for the salad needed to be a blue cheese dressing. Â I used fat free yogurt as the base liquid in this recipe. Â Allow me to digress. Â With all the cooking shows I watch, I am surprised, and even dismayed at, why don’t they show us ways to get the taste without all the fat. Â There is a place for butter, heavy cream, etc. Â But there are so many substitutes or places we can substitute ingredients without losing the essence of the dish.
I share this because I have been using fat free yogurt more and more. Â I love creamy dressings but really tried to limit how often I let myself have them. Â Finding fat-free yogurt has brought back creamy dressings back to my life and you can too.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 8 oz fat-free Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
In a mason jar, add the yogurt, milk, and spices. Shake well.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.  Finish by adding in the blue cheese.
I added the milk in slowly until I was satisfied with my consistency. Â Enjoy!
